Comedy in B-westerns tended to be forced and to depend heavily on knock-about slapstick. Andy Clyde, a former Mack Sennett comedian and Hoppy's sidekick in many of the Hopalong Cassidy westerns, relied on mild slapstick while delivering some really funny lines. Here are Andy, along with Ethel Wales as "Aunty" and Earle Hodgins (one of the most underrated comics in films) as a preacher, in a three-way welter of misunderstanding. It makes for a really funny bit.
